Woof, I am Howie!
Now, I'm still a young guy and seriously quite the charmer once you get to know me, but I am a little misunderstood. I didn't get much socialistation as a pup and I was in a home where some of the other dogs bullied me, so naturally I'm a lil nervous. I came into care with my mum and aunt, who I loved! and I'm now in foster with two big doggos! It took me some time to trust them but now were pretty good friends, so I wouldn't mind going to a home with another dog, but they have to be patient with me while I learn to trust them. It may take me a little bit of time to warm up to you, but I'm improving every day! So, I will need someone who is going to advocate for me and let me take my time getting used to new people, I don't particularly like being touched by people I don't know, but who does!? I'm such a sweet and loyal boy once I get to know you and I'll always be by your side! Each day, I'm learning to trust more and love deeply. As the typical Dachshund, I'm quite the vocal boy! But my foster carer has been helping me learn that dogs aren't so scary, so if you are willing to continue my training then I will definitely turn out to be a very well-behaved boy! I'm very treat motivated too, so I'll make it pretty easy! Theres some cats at my foster home too and I really like them, so I wouldn't mind if you have cats and I'm a very respectful boy! I would love to go home to a family with no young children and someone who has experience with my breed or reactive dogs, and someone who is willing to give me the time to settle in and find my brave! I'm just looking for someone who will truly love me despite my quirks and realise that I am a very very good boy I just haven't had the chance in life yet to show it! So, if you're willing to give me a second chance then I would love to meet you!
