About Betty,
Lovely Betty is a sweet, endearing companion when given the chance to bond with her people. Betty prefers a quieter environment where she isn't overly overwhelmed. Betty's heart is full of love and affection for the right people. When given the chance to connect with someone and trusts you, she will become deeply attached and love you with all of her heart.
We're looking for someone who understands the kelpie breed but is also patient and understanding of a dog who will be initially cautious. Betty needs time to build trust and connection to feel safe. We are willing to send her out on Foster-to-adopt arrangement to give her more time to decompress from shelter life and the big changes of becoming a part of a new forever family. Ideally, a prospective adopter would visit her more than once at the shelter in order to start building trust and a bond with her, before taking her home into a new environment.

- Betty has lived with another dog previously, however, would benefit from being the "only dog." Giving her the upmost love she deserves.
- An acreage property would benefit betty, offering space to run, play, and explore.
Personality & Background
-Betty has a past that has left her to be wary around new people. She needs a patient, understanding adopter who is willing to provide her stability, patience, kindness, and positive reinforcement. With time, love, and the right person, Betty will cherish into your best friend, filled with nothing but admiration for her people.
Training & Habits
- Toilet trained and keeps her pen clean and tidy.
-Can be wary of her lead/harness, but with time enjoys her walks. Gorgeous to walk once comfortable and feels safe.
- Loves fetch!
- Adores her quiet time with her person, having pats and cuddles.

- Enjoys "sniff-aris" intaking all the new smells while out on her walks.
- Betty also enjoys playing fetch and running around outside in an enclosed area.
- Cuddling up to her person once comfortable to do so. She is a total sweetheart when given the chance to feel safe.
- Treats! Miss Betty loves her snacks; she will never say no to something tasty!
- Quiet time overall, Betty is more than happy to quietly lay by your side and chillax.
